Privacy Policy

The short version

• You don't need to give us your name, email or any other details to use Fight Ace, and we don't sell or share personal data. You only give us an email address if you choose to subscribe to the weekly newsletter, and a name of your choosing if you post in Fight discuss.
• Fight Ace itself sets no cookies.
• We count page visits with a privacy-friendly analytics tool that doesn't use cookies or identify you.
• Your training progress (streak, lessons watched and drilled, your learning path) and the “New” markers are remembered in your own browser and never sent to us.
• Playing a video loads YouTube's player, and article images load from the sites that published them. Those services receive your IP address, as with any website.

Who is responsible

The data controller for Fight Ace is Dušan Tavić, Kajmakcalanska 33/3, Serbia. For anything about your privacy, email iwos.app@gmail.com.

What is processed, and why

1. Server logs (hosting)

Fight Ace is hosted by Vercel Inc. Like every web server, when your browser requests a page, Vercel's infrastructure receives technical data: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. This is needed to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix faults. Vercel processes it on our behalf and keeps it only for a limited period. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

2. Visitor statistics (Vercel Web Analytics)

To learn which pages are useful, we use Vercel Web Analytics. It records page views together with the referring site, country, and browser, operating system and device type. It uses no cookies, does not store your IP address, and does not follow you across other websites. Visits are grouped using a short-lived code derived from the request, which is discarded within 24 hours, so we cannot identify you or recognise you on a later day. It also counts a few actions, such as a video being played, a lesson marked as drilled or the newsletter form being submitted, without anything that identifies you. We only see totals. Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

3. Data kept in your browser (local storage)

To show what's new since your last visit, which videos you have already watched, and how your training is going, Fight Ace saves these small entries in your browser's local storage:

• fighthub:visit: the times of your current and previous visits;
• fighthub:watched: the IDs of up to 500 videos you have opened on Fight Ace;
• fighthub:training: the days you logged training and the lessons you marked as drilled;
• fighthub:profile: your answers to “Set up your training” (discipline, experience and training days a week).

This information stays on your device. It is never sent to us or anyone else, and it is used only to provide those features. You can delete it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. If your browser blocks storage, the site still works, without these features.

4. Embedded YouTube videos

Videos play in YouTube's embedded player, which is only loaded when you start a video. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). To make playback start quickly, your browser may open a connection to YouTube and Google when you point at or tap a video. Once a video loads, Google receives your IP address and device information and may store data on your device, as described in the Google Privacy Policy. If you prefer, use “Open on YouTube” or simply don't play videos on Fight Ace.

5. YouTube API Services

Fight Ace uses YouTube API Services on its servers to find videos and read public information about them, such as titles, thumbnails and view counts. We do not access, collect or store any information about your YouTube or Google account. Use of YouTube content is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

6. Images from other sites

Video thumbnails and article images are loaded directly by your browser from the sites that provide them (such as YouTube, news publishers and Reddit). Those sites therefore receive your IP address and browser details. We ask your browser not to tell them which Fight Ace page you were on.

7. Links to other sites

When you follow a link to an article, a video on YouTube or a Reddit discussion, you leave Fight Ace and that site's privacy policy applies. We don't add tracking parameters to those links.

8. The weekly newsletter

If you subscribe, your email address is collected and stored by our newsletter provider, Buttondown, which sends the emails on our behalf. You first receive an email asking you to confirm, and nothing is sent until you do. We use your address only to send you the Fight Ace newsletter; Buttondown may record whether emails are delivered and opened. Every email has an unsubscribe link, which stops the emails at once, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.

9. Posting in Fight discuss

You can post in Fight discuss without an account. When you post, we store the name you chose, your post, the kind of post (advice, story, question or take) and when you posted it; these are public. When you mark a post as helpful or report one, we store that too, without your name.

To stop spam and abuse, we also store a scrambled (salted and hashed) form of your IP address with each post, vote and report, and use it only to limit how often anyone can post, vote and report. It can't be turned back into your address, is never shown, and is erased from posts after 30 days.

Your browser keeps a small entry in local storage, fighthub:discuss: the name you last used, a random code that proves which posts are yours (so you can delete them), and which posts you posted and marked helpful. It is only sent to us in scrambled form, and clearing your browser's site data removes it, after which you can no longer delete your earlier posts yourself (email us instead).

Posts are stored by our database provider, Supabase, which processes them on our behalf. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a community discussion that you choose to take part in, and in protecting it from abuse (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Posts stay until you or we delete them. To have a post deleted that you can't delete yourself, email us a link to it.

10. When you contact us

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply and to deal with your request (for example a privacy or copyright request), and we keep them only as long as needed for that and any related legal obligations. Legal basis: legitimate interest in responding to you, or compliance with a legal obligation (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f) and (c)).

What we don't do

• No advertising, ad networks, tracking pixels or cross-site tracking.
• No selling, renting or “sharing” of personal data for advertising.
• No automated decisions or profiling that affect you.

Service providers and international transfers

Our hosting and analytics provider, Vercel Inc., our newsletter provider, Buttondown, and our database provider for Fight discuss, Supabase Inc., are based in the United States and process data on our behalf under data processing agreements. Where personal data is transferred outside your country, including from the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland to the United States, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, other national data protection laws and U.S. state privacy laws such as the CCPA), you have the right to:

• ask whether we hold personal data about you, and get a copy of it;
• have it corrected or deleted;
• restrict or object to how we use it, including processing based on legitimate interests;
• receive it in a portable format;
• not be discriminated against for using any of these rights;
• complain to your local data protection authority.

There are no accounts, so we usually can't link data to you with certainty. Email iwos.app@gmail.com (with links to your posts, if it's about Fight discuss) and we will help as far as we can, within one month.

Children

Fight Ace is not directed at children under 13, and posting in Fight discuss is for people aged 16 and over. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under those ages. If you believe a child has sent us personal data or posted in Fight discuss, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we will update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes we will also note it on the site. The Terms of Service explain the rest of the rules for using Fight Ace.
